Explanation of Member Map

This map can be found under the Member Map tab at the top of the page.

How to  put yourself on the map

•    Go into the map.
•    Scroll up to the top left and click on “Add My Location”
•    Type in town, city, country.  For some very populated cities, it is advisable to also put in a suburb.
  • There is another box below this which you can leave blank, put in a website, description of your work... anything you like.
Your pin (name) should now be on the map.

How to move around the map

When you first enter the map, it is centred on the USA.

•    Place your cursor (mouse) over the map and it will turn into a hand.
•    Left click on your mouse to drag your ‘hand’.

This will allow you to move around the world.

How to zoom in or out of the map

You will see a + and – sign at the top left of the map.
Clicking on these allows you to zoom in or out of an area.

How to move your pin

If your location changes, go to the top left of the map and click on “Edit My Location”.
Type in a new location and your pin will move.

Some things to note

•    If a pin has a thicker black outline, there is another pin/s behind it.  Zoom in to view.
•    The map doesn’t like apostrophes in surnames, e.g. O’Neill.  It produces random characters to replace the apostrophe.  The solution to this is currently unknown.
•    The Opportunities Groups will now reference the Member Map, especially in relation to local opportunities.  If there aren’t any pins in a particular area or country, potential opportunities will not be posted for that locale.
IF YOU HAVEN’T DONE SO, PUT YOURSELF ON THE MEMBER MAP!
