The difference between the forum, blog, group

The difference between the forum, blog, group ...the" Forum" is for discussions that might be of interest to all members:  "Groups" there are many groups here are the  places where you can ask questions about on going projects that you have or to get information and tips about making mosaics, have you work critiqued and more,  the" Blog" is for posting announcements that are of interest to all the members or your blog can remain private on your page.

Using the Forum

*I encourage you to be respectful in your responses - discussing, disagreeing, dissecting, being provocative and questioning are all perfectly acceptable... not to mention expected... on the forum.

*Things that are not acceptable on the forum… being disrespectful of others, demeaning or discrediting another persons opinion or point of view, ridicule in any form  and personal attacks and insults.

* Please stay on the topic of the brief. If you aren’t clear about what is being stated in the brief, please ask the person who started the discussion to make it clearer, that way it will help everyone stay on topic.

* Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions in a thoughtful kind manner even if the topic is controversial for you.  It helps to have concise responses and sometimes that might mean more words than other times.  Don’t let others intimidate you from coming forward with your thoughts and opinions—no matter who they are.  Yours are just as valuable and important to the conversation as ever other member.

* Instead of going off the topic of the brief when new idea or thought occurs to you please start your own forum discussion.  This will allow you to have some control over the on going debate and will keep our forum discussions going as new ideas come forward.

* If you have something personal to say to another member it’s probably better to email them rather than saying something personal to them during a forum discussion.  And if it’s private it doesn’t belong in a forum discussion, unless agreed upon by both members.

*If you plan to site a members work in your discussion or any technique, skill, style of another member, please get permission from them to use their work as an example before referencing them.

Enjoy
